Why Aviation Standardization, Regulations and Safety at AAUB?

About

Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh (AAUB) has been established with the vision of becoming a pioneering educational institution in the field of Aviation and Aerospace studies in Bangladesh. The university strives to take a leading role in the aviation and aerospace industries by producing skilled engineers and professionals and driving research and development in these areas. In view of global necessity for aviation sector, M.Sc. in Aviation Safety and Accident Investigation (ASAI) program will play an important role to meet the demand of experts on aviation safety and accident investigation. The national and international requirement of professionals in this field is increasing day by day. From this perspective, it is of vital importance to offer post graduate level high quality education to the next generation of aviation professionals. The Master's program in Aviation Safety and Accident Investigation offers students deep knowledge and functional skills of aviation safety and accident investigation to meet the national and global demand. The M.Sc. in Aviation Safety and Accident Investigation allows student to receive an internationally recognized qualification in the field of the aircraft accident investigation. Most students join this course with the intention of receiving a qualification that will allow them to further their career development in accident investigation or other safety-related areas in the aviation sector. An important aspect of this course is the use of hands-on workshops and simulations to develop the practical skills required as an investigator. This is complemented by sessions and modules that enable the students to conduct rigorous research and scientific analysis, along with technical writing, investigation and interviewing techniques. AAUB offers a range of library and support facilities to support studies. This enables students to complete this qualification whilst balancing work/life commitments.

  2. To produce competent safety officer and aircraft accident and other accident investigator capable of solving real-world problems to meet the needs of aviation sector and society.

  4. To enable students in attaining required ethics with an attitude of technical and managerial skills, ethical values and social consciences.

  5. To embed leadership qualities amongst the students to follow successful professional career paths.

  6. To pursue advanced studies in Aviation Safety and Accident Investigation and a life-long learner in cutting edge developments in the field of aviation.

OUR ACHIEVEMENT

The Department of Aviation Safety and Accident Investigation, since its inception on February 2, 2020, has made significant role in the academic and professional development of future aviation safety experts. The department's launch marks a critical milestone in fostering specialized education and expertise in a field that is paramount to the safety and efficiency of global air travel.

The first batch, comprising 24 students (23 males and 1 female), demonstrated the growing interest in this field. Over the years, the department has continued to attract motivated individuals with subsequent intakes, admitting 10 students in the second batch, followed by 6 students each in the third and fourth batches. 01 student of 1st batch successfully completed his post-graduation and rest are undergoing their thesis presently.

The department's curriculum is meticulously designed to blend theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, equipping students with the skills required to investigate aviation accidents, prevent future occurrences and enhance safety protocols within the industry. The small but diverse number reflect a growing awareness of the importance of aviation safety, as well as a commitment to expanding gender diversity within the program.

Through its innovative approach, the Department of Aviation Safety and Accident Investigation has successfully cultivated a generation of aviation professionals who are not only knowledgeable but also ready to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of global aviation safety. As the department continues to grow, it remains dedicated to its mission of excellence in education, research, and real-world application, ensuring safer skies for all.
